Google Drive Storage
All user-uploaded files (schematics, code, PDFs, images, archives) are securely stored on Google Drive via official Google Drive APIs.
Limited Use Guarantee
We never sell user data, never serve ads with Drive data, and never train generalized AI models on your files without explicit consent.
College Tenant Isolation
Student submissions are strictly scoped to their verified college. Unapproved drafts remain private to the student and faculty mentors.
1. Introduction & Scope
Welcome to ProjectHub, an academic engineering and knowledge sharing platform engineered and maintained by Pixel PropX Solutions (“we”, “our”, or “us”), accessible at https://pixelpropx.in .
ProjectHub provides college and university students, faculty members, and academic departments with tools to document, review, standardize, and showcase technical engineering projects (including IoT, robotics, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, and software engineering).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, protect, and store information when you visit our website, register an account, submit academic projects, or upload project attachments.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, as well as data generated during platform use:
A. Account & Profile Information
When you register as a student or request faculty access, we collect your full name, institutional email address (e.g. @college.edu), phone number, affiliated college/university, academic department, and securely hashed passwords (via bcrypt).
B. Academic Project Metadata
When submitting a project, you provide technical documentation including project title, abstract, problem statement, working methodology, Bill of Materials (BOM), pinout configurations, source code snippets, setup instructions, safety precautions, and troubleshooting guides.
C. User-Uploaded Files
Files you upload as part of your project submissions, such as hardware wiring diagrams, circuit schematics, PCB Gerber files, firmware source code archives, demonstration video clips, photographic records, and PDF research reports.
ProjectHub utilizes Google Drive as its primary cloud storage infrastructure for all user-uploaded files.
- Storage Destination: Whenever a student, faculty member, or administrator uploads a project asset (including circuit diagrams, PCB artwork, source code files, demonstration media, photos, and project documentation), the file is transferred directly to and stored in designated directories on Google Drive using the official Google Drive API.
- File Identification: ProjectHub stores Google Drive file identifiers (
fileId), drive folder references (driveFolderId), and generated preview/download URLs in its database to reference and display your project assets on the platform. - Secure File Handling: File transmissions to Google Drive are encrypted in transit via TLS 1.3. Files stored in Google Drive benefit from Google's enterprise cloud security and encryption at rest.
- Permanent Deletion: When you delete a file or an entire project from ProjectHub, our system automatically executes a deletion request through the Google Drive API, permanently purging the physical file from Google Drive storage.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy & Limited Use Disclosure
ProjectHub's use of Google APIs complies strictly with the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.
Our Limited Use Commitments:
- No Ad-Targeting: ProjectHub does not use or transfer Google user data or files stored in Google Drive for serving advertisements, including personalized, re-targeted, or interest-based advertising.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or monetize user data, files, or information accessed via Google APIs to third parties or data brokers under any circumstances.
- No AI Model Training on Private Data: We do not use user files or data obtained through Google Drive APIs to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models without your explicit, affirmative consent.
- Human Access Restrictions: Human beings are not permitted to read your uploaded Google Drive files unless: (1) you provide affirmative consent (e.g. submitting a project for faculty coordinator review); (2) necessary for security purposes (e.g. investigating abuse or malware); (3) complying with applicable law; or (4) the files are aggregated and anonymized for internal system performance analytics.
- Minimal Necessary Scopes: ProjectHub requests only the specific Google OAuth scopes necessary to upload and manage project files (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.fileand designated storage folder administration).
5. IoT Secret & Credential Scanning
To protect student privacy and institutional network security, ProjectHub incorporates an automated client- and server-side secret scanner.
When source code files (C, C++, Python, JavaScript) or firmware configurations are submitted, our system scans the content for exposed secrets—including Wi-Fi SSIDs and passwords (e.g., WiFi.begin("...", "...")), cloud API keys (e.g., ThingSpeak, Adafruit IO, AWS IoT), MQTT tokens, and private cellular numbers.
Flagged submissions require author redaction before faculty review and public indexing to prevent accidental credential disclosure.
6. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected information exclusively for legitimate educational and platform purposes:
- Facilitating the multi-step project submission and faculty peer-review lifecycle.
- Hosting and presenting verified academic engineering projects in the public showcase.
- Maintaining college tenant isolation so faculty coordinators review only their institution's students.
- Sending transactional notifications regarding project status changes (e.g., revisions requested, approval, rejection).
- Generating immutable audit logs for administrative actions, security monitoring, and institutional compliance.
- Preventing fraudulent registrations, spam, and security vulnerabilities.
7. Institutional Isolation & Data Sharing
ProjectHub implements strict multi-tenant isolation. Your data is handled as follows:
Private / Review Stage
Projects in DRAFT, SUBMITTED, or CHANGES_REQUESTED states are accessible exclusively to the author and authorized faculty administrators of the author's affiliated college. Faculty from other institutions cannot view or access these files.
Published Showcase
Once a project is approved and set to PUBLISHED and PUBLIC, its documentation, schematics, and demo assets become publicly accessible to inspire students, educators, and industry researchers.
We never sell or rent your personal information to third-party advertisers or commercial aggregators.
8. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
We retain personal data and project documentation for as long as your account remains active or as needed to maintain academic records:
- Immediate File Purge: When an uploaded file is removed from a project or a project is deleted, the file is automatically purged from Google Drive via the Google Drive API.
- Account Deletion Request: You can request full account erasure, including all associated personal data and project files, by contacting support@pixelpropx.in. Verified requests are processed within 30 business days.
9. Security Standards
We enforce rigorous security measures across the platform:
- Stateless JSON Web Tokens (JWT) stored in HTTP-Only, Secure, SameSite cookies.
- Passwords salted and hashed using bcrypt (10 rounds).
- End-to-end transport layer encryption (TLS 1.3) across all endpoints and API integrations.
- Role-based access controls (RBAC) separating Students, College Faculty Admins, and Super Admins.
- Immutable audit logging tracking all logins, project reviews, and administrative operations.
